Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to some questions you might be sitting with.
Getting started
-
I offer complimentary 20-minute consultation calls on Wednesday mornings. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re looking for in a therapy experience, and any questions you have. It’s also a chance for both of us to get a sense of whether we might be a good fit.
-
Yes. All sessions are virtual. You’ll need to be physically located in Colorado at the time of your appointment.
-
You don’t have to figure that out before reaching out. We can talk through what you’re looking for during your complimentary consultation and decide what makes the most sense.
First Steps: 90-Minute Session: For people in the early days or weeks after a death who want some guidance without committing to ongoing therapy. We’ll talk through what’s happening, answer questions about grief, identify what you need most right now, and leave you with personalized resources and next steps.
Individual Therapy may be a good fit if you’re looking for ongoing support with grief, trauma, or life transitions. Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or biweekly, with secure messaging available between appointments.
If you’re still not sure, that’s completely fine. You don’t need to choose a service before we talk.
Fees & insurance
-

First Steps Early Grief Support sessions are $200 for 90 minutes.

I am paneled with Optum and United Healthcare (UMR).
For all other insurances, I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance directly. This allows me to keep decisions about your therapy—like the focus, frequency, and length of our work—between you and me rather than an insurance company.
I partner with Mentaya to help you understand your out-of-network benefits and what reimbursement may look like. I’ll also provide a monthly superbill that you can submit for possible reimbursement.
-
Individual Therapy is the only service offered with tiered pricing:
· $180 — Standard Rate: Choose this rate if therapy at this price fits comfortably within your budget.
· $150 — Reduced Rate: Choose this rate if the standard rate would create some financial strain, but $150 feels sustainable for you.
· $125 — Access Rate: Intended for clients who would otherwise have difficulty accessing therapy. I keep three active spots available at this rate.
You can choose the rate that best reflects your financial circumstances. No income verification or explanation is required.
Wondering what therapy might actually cost with your out-of-network benefits?
If you have out-of-network benefits, I offer a complimentary check for you and send you a personalized breakdown of your estimated costs and reimbursement.
What to expect in therapy
-
You don’t need to come in with a plan or know exactly what you want to talk about. I’ll listen, ask questions, and help you make sense of what’s coming up. Some sessions might focus on grief or trauma, while other days we may talk about relationships, work, or something that happened that week. I’ll share what I’m noticing and offer guidance when it feels useful, while making sure there’s room for you to set the direction.
Some days we’ll do deeper work, and some days you may simply need a place to land. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and with a little more clarity about what you need.
-
Individual Therapy can be scheduled weekly or biweekly, and your frequency can change over time as your needs change.
Scheduling can be flexible from week to week, or I can hold a consistent day and time for you if you prefer having something regular on your calendar. We can figure out what works best when you get started.
-
I want you to feel supported between sessions, too. That’s why Individual Therapy includes access to secure messaging throughout the week.
You can send a reflection, ask a question, share something you want to remember for your next session, or simply let me know what’s been coming up. If it would be helpful, you can also ask for a brief, high-level summary of a session.
I typically respond within 24–48 business hours. Messaging is best for check-ins, questions, and reflections. Anything more detailed or emotionally intense is usually better saved for your session so it can have the time and attention it deserves.
Between-session messaging isn’t intended for crisis or real-time support.
