I’m sorry you’re here. But, I’m also really glad you’re here. Because reaching out for support when you’re mourning can feel like just another task you barely have the energy for.
I know it means you’ve lost someone important to you and the last thing you wish you were doing was looking for support for trying to understand how to live with missing that person. Or maybe, it’s not so simple, maybe you had a complicated relationship with this person and you’re trying to understand the mix of feelings associated with this loss.
Either way, grief and loss can feel so challenging because the experience of mourning is not straightforward. On any given day you might feel grateful, proud, angry, relieved, or depressed.
I feel honored to get to support clients who are trying to make sense of a loss and the effects of this loss on their life. Therapy is helpful for feelings of grief as it gives mourners a place to be truly honest about what they’re feeling without having to pretend or perform they’re okay. It creates a dedicated space to talk about your loved one, speak their name, understand their significance in your life, and develop the self-care you need throughout it all.
